Nothing but BlueSky now…
Blue days, all of them gone
Nothin' but blue skies from now on

Greetings Starfighters,
Let’s take a quick stroll down memory lane…
The year was 2013, and I was a bright-eyed pre-service teacher with big ideas. I’d brought with me a boatload of tech know-how from navigating the Interwebs since the 1990s.
I’d been on the site formerly known as Twitter since 2007 - I actually met the creators at a podcast conference as they talked about their 140-character messaging system for podcasters called Odeo - and was quite familiar with the platform.
Then, I found out teachers were using the ol’ tweet box to share resources, creating these things called “personal learning networks” that anyone could join.
I hopped in and the rest, as they say, is history. I started #KyEdChat with a few other folks in the summer of 2013 (we even did a 24-hour chat during KySTE one year…) and learned SO MUCH over the next few years.
Sadly, that network faded out and hasn’t really been around for a long, long time.
Until…
BlueSky. Over the past few weeks, a resurgence of that early social media magic has taken place on BlueSky and the number of people using the hashtag #EduSky is increasing daily.
I’m excited about the prospect of having a place for teachers to share their work and learn from others. It feels like old times, when all of us learned so much from each other.
All I have for you this week is to think about joining the gang over on BlueSky and make some connections with like-minded folks working in your field. It’s good, wacky fun. And you can learn tons.
I’m over there, and I hope to see you there soon.
